Dr Bell-Allen has over 25 years experience in E.N.T. Surgery. He graduated from University of Queensland Medical School in 1985 (MBBS). He gained his Fellowship in Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery (E.N.T.) in 1994 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (RACS). He spent a year in the United Kingdom in 1995 doing his Advanced Fellowship furthering his experience in paediatric surgery and ear surgery in particular.
He returned to Brisbane and set up Private Practice in 1996. He is a Senior Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) at the Queensland Children’s Hospital and is the Supervisor of E.N.T. Registrar Training there.
Dr Bell-Allen is the Chairman of the Regional Training Committee and the Chairman of the Queensland Branch of the Australian Society of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery (ASOHNS). He is committed to the training of E.N.T. Registrars.
Dr Bell-Allen has special interests in Paediatric E.N.T., Otology (Ear Surgery) and Hearing Implant Surgery particularly Cochlear Implants (Children and Adults) and Bone Conduction Implants (i.e. Bone Anchored Hearing Aids (BAHA) and Bonebridge). Dr Bell-Allen also specializes in Nasal and Sinus Surgery.
Dr Bell-Allen is a Cochlear Implant Surgeon for the Queensland Children’s Hospital C.I. program and the (private) Attune C.I. program and is closely associated with the Hear & Say Centre as an Implant Surgeon.
